Skint Willy was the first gamma-released JSW128 game by the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!, and the first part of the so-called Down and Out Trilogy (the other two parts being: Willy the Rogue and Steal Stealin'). It was released in March 2002 (as v. 0.5), with bug-fixed revisions following in May (v. 0.6) and December (v. 0.7) of that same year.
The last original revision of the game was still impossible to complete because of a critical bug. A bugfixed, completable version, prepared by Daniel Gromann, was released, with the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!'s "blessing", in November 2019.
Willy had literally partied his fortune down the pan: all his cars, most of his furniture and even his boat were purchased by Hans Krauser, a rich and cunning rival Willy had met on a holiday in Germany. Maria, his unpleasant housekeeper, abandoned him and started to work for Krauser. Broke, homeless and terrified, Willy had no choice but to find refuge at the infamous Hilltop Hostel. Most of those who stayed there never got back on their feet again. The player's task is to help Willy - who wakes up from a drunken stupor after drinking his last bottle of cheap cider - escape from the Hostel, get back to his mansion and regain his fortune by collecting all the items, and then head back to the Hostel to pay off his debts.
The game uses Hacklevel 8 of the JSW128 game engine.
