A Bulgarian Requiem was the second of three JSW games gamma-released by Fabián Álvarez López (Adban de Corcy) between 2000 and 2002.
The story: After completing his journey through the Afterlife and retrieving all of God's lost relics, Willy finds himself resurrected as a reward for his good work. However, his newfound peace is short-lived when, just two months later, he receives a mysterious letter from his long-lost uncle, Jetza Setov Willovsky, XVIII Count of Willovsky, inviting him to a holiday at the family castle in Bulgaria to strengthen their familial bonds. Despite Bulgaria seeming like a reasonable destination, Willy, accompanied by Maria and André, soon discovers unsettling events unfolding upon their arrival at Count Willovsky's castle. The game, in which the player has to navigate through the Willovsky Castle and its surroundings, starts as Willy is confronted with his uncle's plans to transform him into a vampire.
In this Gothic tale, amidst eerie surroundings, Willy encounters a host of sinister characters including the ancient vampire Count Jetza Setov Willovsky intent on adding Willy to his undead dynasty, Marina Lezcanova, the Housemistress guarding a crucial petrol can which Willy needs to fuel his car and escape, Lady Anathema Willovskova, a necrophagus who despises Jetza, Lady Belladonna Willovskova, Jetza's compassionate true love and mother of his heir Matheos, Lady Castratrix Willovskova, consumed by madness and gruesome obsessions, Lady Dominatrix Willovskova, seeking vengeance for Jetza's betrayal, Lady Evilia Willovskova, filled with deep-seated hatred for Willy, Matheos Willovsky, Jetza's resistant heir, Andrei Lezcanov, the castle's cook with a macabre touch, along with a plethora of castle guards, carnivorous plants, bats and other bizarre creatures.
The game features a new title-screen tune called "Blood Sonata" and "a pseudo-Bulgarian church song" for the in-game tune, both coded by Fabián.
