42. Jet Set Willy: Manic Miner

Author: Andrew Broad

Publisher: Broadsoft

Year: 2004

Reissued: 2007 (with changes to other parts of the box set and updated documentation)

Language: English

Jet Set Willy: Manic Miner was released by Andrew Broad in April 2004 as part of the Party Willy box set. The Special Edition of the box set was released in April 2007, but the changes it involved did not concern the game file of Jet Set Willy: Manic Miner.

The game is a conversion of the original MM rooms to JSW. The box set contains an older, incompletable version ("JSWMM_OLD.TAP") as well as a newer, completable one ("JSWMM_NEW.TAP"), with 21 rooms (the 20 MM rooms plus "Master Bedroom"), which was generated semi-automatically by Andrew Broad's Java program MMtoJSW, which was to be released as part of SPECSAISIE 1.3 (however, the last publicly released stable version of this program is SPECSAISIE 1.2), with some post-editing by hand.

The information below concerns the newer version.

Number of edited rooms: 21

(Rooms 20-34 and 36-60 are left as in the original JSW, but without guardians or items; they are not meant to be part of this game).

Number of rooms accessible without cheating: 21

Number of rooms which need to be visited to complete the game: 21

Number of items to collect: 85

Bugfix needed after original release? NO

Spare lives at the start: 2

Completable without loss of life? YES

Starting time: 10:41 pm

Best documented completion time with no unnecessary loss of life:11:20 pm
