Author: the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!

Publisher: BaSe1 PrOdUcTiOnZ

Year: 2011

Language: English

Clopit! was the sixth JSW64 game gamma-released by the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!! and his "first proper MM Clone", which means that "all the screens act like the ones from Manic Miner, collect the items, the portal flashes, you jump into it, and onto the next screen" (it should be noted, however, that the game ends with a toilet run like a JSW game rather than continuing through the same screens from the first one, like a MM game).

Clopit was wandering through the woods, as he usually did in his happy and carefree life when, all of a sudden, a scary-looking castle emerged from the ground as if by magic. Clopit tried to hop away, but against his will, he was pulled inside by a mysterious force... The player's task is to help Clopit escape the eerie castle by collecting mystic items scattered around its dozen realms, to dissolve the boundaries of Hoh! The Evil Dimension Benders' alternate realities and guide Clopit back to the woods. Mama Clopit will be worried to death if you don't return home before dark...

The DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!! conceived the idea for the game and drew Clopit's sprite while working on Miles Mad Mission! in 2009. A couple of years later, after retrieving the preliminary room list hastily compiled during that period, he decided to continue the project and release it as a mini-game. The final version was meant to include only the screens he had originally conceived. Ultimately, he created 12 'playable' rooms, where the player collects items, avoids guardians and navigates challenges (in the subsequent six rooms, pressing 'SPACE' is all that needs to be done to continue). Clopit! was released in November 2011.

The game uses a slightly modified Variant [, Hacklevel 12 of the JSW64 game engine. It also incorporates the Broadsoft Lifts patch by Andrew Broad.

Number of new edited rooms: 21

This number comprises 12 rooms which are 'proper' MM-type rooms, 6 rooms where the player simply needs to press SPACE to continue after viewing the picture or reading the message on the screen, and 3 rooms that constitute the final sequence. The remaining 43 rooms in the game file are rooms from Jet Set Willy 64 (JSW64), so they are effectively rooms from the original JSW designed by Matthew Smith plus the Watch Tower sequence rooms designed by John Elliott. However, these rooms cannot be accessed during the gameplay and evidently do not form part of Clopit!.

Number of rooms accessible without cheating: 21

(Since this is a MM-style game, wandering around the rooms a la JSW is not possible; they have to be tackled one by one.)

Number of rooms which need to be visited to complete the game: 21

Number of items to collect: 73
