Versions and minor mods of the original Jet Set Willy
Jet Set Chile
Author: Bad Horsey
Publisher: London Circus Cats
Year: 2010
Language: English
A version related thematically to the 2010 Copiapó mining accident in Chile, featuring three new rooms: "Nag Nag Nag" (58), "Down the hatch" (47) and "69 days in the hole" (10). Two of the original rooms are missing from the game: "The Beach" (58) and "The Front Door" (10).
Apparently, Jet Set Chile is meant to be a kind of demo only: the player cannot visit most of the original rooms (with the exception of "The Yacht", "The Bow" and getting stuck in the wall in "Tool Shed"), visiting some of them (e.g. by cheating) would result in a multiple-death scenario because of edited guardians colliding with room elements or other guardians, and the new rooms are an itemless, one-way passage ending in a cul-de-sac.
The game uses the colour code protection of the original JSW. The fall-any-height POKE (36477,1 or #8E7D,01 in Hex) has been applied, which allows Willy to land safely in the "hole".
There is an opinion on the internet that the game is a "tribute" to the story of the Chilean miners. However, given the explicit sexual elements it features, it is hard to see how it can be a well-meaning tribute to those affected by the Copiapó accident.
