2. Manic Miner 2
Author / publisher: Schultze

Manic Miner 2 is the oldest known remake of MM. It was already available to fans on cassettes in the times of "the real hardware", a long time before the emulation of the ZX Spectrum on modern computers and the internet.
The game features a custom-made loading screen. The solar beam is inactive in the penultimate cavern. The game has the infinite lives POKE applied by default.
An Italian version of the game called La miniera 2 ("The Mine 2") was released by Load 'n' Run on its Italian tape 20 in October 1985. It featured an edited title screen, no room names (blank spaces) and a protagonist called Jack il Curioso. It followed up on the release of the Italian version of the original MM called La miniera.
Number of rooms: 20
Highest documented score:
- upon reaching the swordfish sign: 38,778 points;
- upon first re-entry into the first cavern: 40,223 points.
