Manic Scribbler is a MM remake created by Darth Melkor. Its rooms were written by hand - the author scribbled each cell type in turn across the room using the mouse, then cleared gaps for the guardians and then massaged the chaos into something playable. The game was released in December 2005.
The title-screen and in-game tunes are generated using the following formula: each note is INT (2^(4+RND*4)). The game has some patches applied, including the item collection sound from Jet Set Willy.
The release ZIP also included two variants of the original games: Manic Miner: Perpetual Motion and Jet Set Willy: Perpetual Motion.
Number of rooms: 20
Highest documented score:
- upon reaching the swordfish sign: 31,748 points;
- upon first re-entry into the first cavern: 32,730 points.
