well what can i say? :) they just don't make
platform games anymore do they? well not proper ones
anyway. for a start the games coming out today try and
look like real life, with 3d rendered landscapes and
stuff. booorriing! if i wanted 3d i would just step
outside. there's plenty of it out there! give me a
badly-drawn, cross-sectional, flick-screen representation of
reality any day!

i got into emulation a couple of
months ago and i've been completely (re-)hooked on jsw
ever since! love it. and i needed the toilet when i
found out there were editors available. so now i am
about 1/3 of the way through my jsw clone, which is
basically in the same vein as the other games, but i found
some of the other remakes dissapointing (for my own
personal tastes) so i thought i would make a game that was
appealing to my own tastes. the game is starts off with
willy exploring a tomb in a pyramid, but soon starts to
get surreal (in true jsw style) as he goes
deeper.

finally (for now) i'd just like to ask if there's a
decent jsw clone game for the pc platform. i mean, just
think how neat that would be! you could have ramps and
conveyors going both directions on one screen, loads more
baddies (perhaps with more exotic flight paths), and even
the crumbling platforms from manic miner and about a
million and one other screen elements that i could think
of but won't bore you with just yet.

i've
tried to do a jsw clone on the amiga using amos (a
souped up basic) but failed due to unelegant
programming. although the ideas were there! oh, if only i was,
like, halfway good at programming...

never mind
:)
