Subject: Re: new willy
willy's afterlife. downloaded it this morning and
gave it a fair old play. it's very well executed and i
love the themes (although my general knowledge in
these areas is abit thin so much went over my head!).
however i found some of the actual screen layouts to be a
bit too simple. i like lots of nooks and crannies to
explore wheras your game had a fairly simple layout.
although from reading the documentation, this seems to be
your intent.
i'm going to have alot of fun
playing it. i always get bloody hooked on jsw :). oh but
i think i found a bug, when i went up the rope over
the river styx, i became trapped between screens.
also on gawp's game (which is also very good) i found
some continuity errors between the screens where i was
flicked onto a wall or a deadly drop or something without
fair warning.
i'll get round to maybe being a
bit more specific later :), and i'll also give my
opinions on some of the other games i have played.
i think willy's holiday has to be one of my
favourites at the moment, can't remember who wrote it, but
it's brilliant. i also like we pretty, especially the
atmosphere/concept behind it, but i have to admit i find the
difficulty a little off putting. especially that 'diamond
bozy' screen :) i keep getting killed there no matter
how hard i try. maybe next time you should make
something for us intermediate players, eh? :)
