I'm sad that Erix1 has retired
from MM/JSW. He had a unique visual style which I
don't think I could imitate, and his technical
contribution was on a par with Geoff Eddy's.

But I
understand that MM/JSW is an addiction which can take over
one's life, so some people would only be able to get
out of it by announcing their retirement and stopping
completely. I've had to greatly reduce my MM/JSW intake due
to my PhD and other distractions, but I would never
jack it in completely. I may be forced into exile by
losing access to the Internet, but I plan to Kari on
Willying for the rest of my life.

I happen to have some .htm/.gif/.jpg files from the
Manic Miner Technologies website that I saved in
February 2000, but sadly I've lost all the reviews, except
that I took printouts of the reviews of my five games.
I could email you the files I've still got soft
copies of.

Except for severe
Willy withdrawal symptoms I presume! ;-)

At
least we have that demo of Maria vs Some Bastards.
Would anyone be up for building on this? Either writing
a new game on the modified game engine, finishing
the game itself, or perhaps using it as the starting
point for a new game such as Jet Set Willy Mythologies:
Maria - Lady of the Bedroom? ;-) I don't suppose it's
too feasible to use the rooms in the UC128 mass
collaboration, unless the JSW128 game engine is modified
accordingly - a problem known in the trade as program
integration...
