Subject: Re: where's woody - beta release
I've had a look at the room titles using SPECSAISIE, although I haven't got it to my
emulator yet (not that I expect to have much joy when I do, because MacSpectacle doesn't
support 128K mode properly, and JSW128 games tend to crash very early, so I'll probably have
to wait until I type it into my real Spectrum a few months down the line).
It's
nice to see (from the room names) that the game contains tributes to various MM/JSW authors
and Kari Krinkov! :-)
I love the bit where you say that I turned you into a JSW
expert from playing my games! :-) It's nice to make a contribution and raise the standard!
;-)
As for changing the music, if you don't want to bother writing a TUN using John EllioTT's
write-up of the 128K music format [http://www.seasip.demon.co.uk/Jsw/jswtune.html target=new>http://www.seasip.demon.co.uk/Jsw/jswtune.html> ], I seem to
recall that when I looked at Ian Collier's original music package it had more .TUN files
besides SONATA.TUN (Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata) and GRACE.TUN (what's that?)...
256
rooms will mean a 4-hour+ marathon, and unfortunately JSW128 is prone to crashing on a real
Spectrum (as is Geoff mode). How about a save-game feature, John? :-) :-)

P.S. There was a computer scientist called Woody Bledsoe, but he died in 1995. I liked the
surname.
