Subject: Re: where's woody - beta release

"i'm impressed you made it past the entrance
hall! even more impressed if you did it without
cheating :)"

Eventually, by trial and
error!

As for cheating...this is an interesting
point.

I would argue that there's no way on Earth of
playing Woody in a single session. You have to save at
points throughout the game. But where do you
save?

Generally I save on a 'room entry' basis. I avoid saving in
the middle of a room (well, 99% of the time :) ). I
think this is generally fair, similar to most modern
games where you can save after completing a level.
However, it does effectively give you infinite lives
(unless you get stuck and have to sacrifice - in Woody I
have only 4 lives left), but this is the case in any
game where you can save (i.e. all modern
games).

Does this sound fair, or does anyone have a different
opinion. Maybe there should be designated save points - to
differentiate legitimate saving from ... glup! ... real
cheating.

Stuart.
