No, I don't think you made a mistake. I hadn't tried
running that tune to see what happened, and it does
indeed issue repeated clicking noises.
Try
06 F7 07 F7 08 F7 FF FF 00 FF FF
instead.
That puts the clicks about 5 seconds apart, where they
shouldn't be so obtrusive. To get them further apart, put
more "00 FF" sequences before the final "FF".
