ah!.
that's better :)
incidentally, i filled the whole
inhabited portion of the file with 00 FF 00 FF 00 FF's and
ended with FF FF but the clicks still come every 3-4
seconds. not that i'm particularly bothered, that's good
enough for me :)
now all i have to do is fix up
some kind of original title screen.
