can this be done in manic miner or is the
architecture too

different?

You /can/ specify the vertical position of horizontal guardians in pixels in MM, but it
only colours the top two character rows, whereas JSW colours all three character rows. The
same goes for the portal. Even for the conveyor animation and the items, although there's a
bug with doing it for items.
