Subject: fiddling with the new JSWED

okay,

well i've had a crack at making a
new game from scratch with the new JSWED [ knowing
full well that it's a beta version :) ] , mainly as a
means of getting comfortable with it and testing
it.

on the bugs front, here's what i could
figure:

i had a bug when switching guardian tables, which
caused all the guardian instances in the room to flood
with garbage guardians - a seemingly infinite supply
of them. sometimes it would go away but more often
than not it wouldn't, and it made editing guardians
impossible and caused a crash when you tried to play the
room. this whole thing *may* have been caused by my
moving a guardian table from one location to another,
which i understand should give me garbled guardian
'classes', but not undeletable guardian 'instances' in the
room.

that was the main bug i noticed.

whilst editing
a vertical guardian, i got an illegal operation
*once* (in the space of about 3 hours of testing), but
hell, this is windows, right? :) i am now in the habit
of saving after every succesful operation of the
program.

there was also one time when the cursor wouldn't appear
in any of the boxes to type, although i've a
sneaking suspicion this was after the horrible guardian
fiasco i mentioned in the paragraph above.

other
than that, it's ease of use is inspirational, and i'm
sure it will lead to some great games being
written.

the only other thoughts that occurred to me so far is
that it would be good to have a 'clear guardian table
x' or 'clear sprites' or 'clear rooms' or 'clear
everything' kind of menu, for, um, clearing stuff!
and
that tiny one-byte 'fall as far as you like' patch as
seen in we pretty and afterlife?

there's my
input... this is looking really good though :)
