Subject: Re: gender and nationality

"For instance, I'm Spanish. Do you think that my
games are different from... Sendy's, who is English? Or
from Gawp's?

Please give me some examples, in
any case."

I would say that yes, your games do
have a more... gothic (for lack of a better word)
flavour to them than any other Willy game I have yet
encountered (The Afterlife, Vampires and Rumanian[?]
carnivals I feel are more like that than the usual fare).
Whether that is because you're Spanish is debatable.
Andrew's games are also strikingly different from anyone
else's, but he's English like me, Gawp and Sendy. We
Pretty is basically on its own in Willy
circles.
Looking at the issue, I would say that nationality is
significant in that the environment you were raised in will
have a dramatic effect on who you are, which in turn
will have a significant effect on what you produce as
a game. And that in itself is checked by what you
feel you want to put of yourself into a game, and what
you are willing to risk putting in. I for instance
have designs to unleash my full disgust at religion in
my PC Willy game. Whether I do or not is dependent
on who might be offended, whether I care about those
people and whether I could stand the possible backlash.
Is anyone here particularly religious?
