Subject: mario editing

although this topic is milked in a couple of
other platformgame-related clubs, i just thought i'd
drop a mention here, since there don't appear to be
many people seriously into
this...

this mario editor is seriously easy to use (if i can
do it.... anyone etc), and now you can specify
level-specific palettes, change the graphics and parallax
scrolling, and even add extra graphs somehow. you don't have
to worry about memory since the rom gets patched up
and expanded as soon as you edit it. this means you
can make long, complex levels (if you want :), and
pipe/door/exit editing is very easy.

like jsw,
mario(world) has lots of unused permutations of blocks and
arrangements, and the scope for puzzles and 'ingeneous
design'... (something lacking in the original marioworld
levels IMO).

maybe someone should start a mario
remakes site? possibly me? is anyone interested in
playing my designs? i have to admit, i'd love to see what
fellow jsw authors can come up with... particularly a
broadsoft mario game, or someone who can draw, such as gawp
or adban, because they might be inspired to do
extensive graphic overhauls (something i can't do.. i have
altered the aesthetics in other ways though).
