Subject: JESTER's misson...
Hello all! :o)
I've finally got my
head, ears, eyes and other parts of my body out of our latest
project to let you all know that we DO read the postings
to this Yahoo Club... ;oD
We (as you may have
noticed) have recently been snapping up the rights to
8-bit titles.
Are we mad? - Probably!
But
this comes primarily from our love of old games from
the Speccy, C64, BBC and Amstrad days.
I
personally have nearly every 8-bit computer in my 'shed of
glory' including 48k's and 128's. (Oh, and if anyone
knows how to fix a slightly busted Q.L. - let me know!
:oD )
Classic games with great playability
will always stand the test of time, regardless of the
platform they appear on. So long as that essence is
carried forward into the newer versions.
Will we
please everyone? Who can tell?
Everyone has their
own take on classic games. Some feel it's sacrilige
to even try to take the ideas forward, but (as I've
seen from this and other lists) most of us love the
idea!
Talking to our marketing guys, we've got further
announcements in the pipeline, but they're a little way off
yet. One thing's for sure, we're not going to rush
into this - we need to get it absoultely spot
on.
Hopefully we can have a whole new generation of kids
falling in love with Willy, Paradroid, Uridium (and
others!).
Best wishes,
Tim.
