I remember the first time I met Yak.
Pilot Software off Tottenham Court Road had just
received an AMIGA direct from the U.S. Jeff had heard
about it and legged it down to the shop to have a play!
I happened to wander into the shop (this was circa.
late 80's ) looking for C64 software, but no-one was
behind the counter, or anywhere else for that matter, so
I followed the noise downstairs.
There I
found the bearded one sat in front of an A1000 with a
pile of coats on the floor. I asked someone what was
with the coats - apparently they were muffling an ear
deafeneing 50/60Hz power supply converter! Anyhow, my claim
to fame is he bought McDonalds for everyone in the
room and took my order personally, before asking his
mate to go fetch them. Quite a buzz for a then teenage
student!
And now I find Matt lives down the road from me -
small world...
I wonder if the Foot & Mouth has
affected Yak's little 'zoo'?
