Subject: Re: Idioteque
"Idioteque" is also my favourite track off Kid A and was the
inspiration behind the title of a new JSW room I created last month.
A month or four ago I had an idea for an innovative JSW game, the
like of which has never been seen before. A month ago I decided to
attempt and start editing the game. I wanted this game to be rather
a normal game, with not a lot of intentional quirky features and
definitely not surreal.
I started editing with the idea of a pretty patterned floor. I knew
what I wanted, but when I started to edit the floor, a surreal
pattern arose and this 'surreal JSW movement' continued until I had
edited three rooms, "Of stones And tablets", "The Lives of the
Saints" and "idioteque pikture show", with an option to view a forth
room, "Christian Graffiti".
This was most annoying, as I didn't want this game to be surreal! A
sequel could be surreal, but I wanted the first game of this hitherto
unexplored genre to be fairly 'mainstream', as the difference is in
the gameplay.
Another idea to relegate to the Filsoft vaults, perhaps...
Phil
