Subject: A development-system question
First of all I'd just like to say I think the
idea of doing a "Jet Set Willy 3D" sucks. If it were
to be done, Willy would at least have to move along
a fixed line. (Not go back and forth on the
Z-plane...) More like the 3D-effects found in Killer
Instinct. Anyways, an idea I've had for some time is doing
toon-like PC versions of MM/JSW, based on the style of the
game's cover art. (Thousands of colours/ 640*400) Being
an illustrator/ animator I can do the gfx without
problems. However, I haven't been programming PC's for
years and would like to know if any of you guys know of
any good, free development systems I could use for
such a project. I have experience with both C and
Pascal but really haven't had the time to do any
research on todays tools. Well, let me know if you think
the idea of an up-to-date/non 3D-version sounds OK,
and if you have any recommendations what development
tools are concerned...
