Subject: Technical question
I've been putting my mind to the question of converting JSW 2 C16 to
Spectrum format, but I need help with a technical issue to know if
it's possible:
In JSW, you can poke the game to give Willy superjump capabilities.
On top of that, John's JSWED program gives you the option of poking
it into individual rooms, so that those rooms alone give Willy
superjump. So... since you can poke the game to make a fire block act
like an air block, can you a) poke it to act like a water block, and
b) set individual rooms to do that? See, the sewers in JSW 2 use
multiple conveyor blocks to let Willy walk through walls, and the
nearest I can come to that is a "fire" block acting like water. Is
this at all possible?
[visions of long nights twiddling with codes I know nothing about
swim before my eyes...]
NB: Should I convert JSW 2 to the Speccy, I've decided the best way
to link the sections is through use of discreet teleporters. That way
everything links up without disturbing the appearance of the rooms
Oh, and Goodnight Luddite! Yay!
