Subject: All sorts of things
First off, I've been reading through a lot of old club posts lately,
and thinking about JSWED. John, in future editions what do you reckon
to these possible features:
* Individual POKEing for ramps and conveyors, allowing people to
explore the peculiar effects that can come from having bizarre
values. You could always put in special menus listing the significant
effects, but then again I figure you'd rather not sit down and
wearily POKE in and then test approx. 500 different untested values
* a choice of any of the eight colours for Willy. I dunno how
difficult this would be, I just figured if Willy can be made black,
it would just mean an adjustment of the same values to make him red,
blue, green, etc
* I had a third, but I can't remember what it was going to be :s
Anyway, secondly, it's amazing how many ideas for Willy games are
just lying around unclaimed in the old posts. Like Lordveeb's
suggestions for games based on the London Underground map, or one
based on the alphabet (although I'd make it 52 rooms rather than his
26), etc
And thirdly, I think when I get round to it, I might tackle a
recreation/expansion of David Brooks' unfinished "Willy's Universe"
using Dan's editor. I used to enjoy exploring that, even though it
was never going to get even close to being finished, and I hate to
see Willy games lost in the ether. And I'm not a reliable source of
original ideas for games at the best of times
