Subject: About the JSW PC Editor...
The good news: It's almost complete! The following graphics will be
editable :- all tiles, all sprites, title screen, intro screen,
options screen (to an extent), the actual game screen (you can edit
where it says items collected and sorrounding area), the fonts, the
game over foot and barrel.
The conveyorbelt blocks will animate themselves once edited, like in
Johns JSWED.
You can even edit the border 'tiles' to give a funky new design, I
managed to create some wierd looking stripes :-)
And now, the bad news: Due to DIV Games Studio's rather hefty bug
(the one that doesn't let you compile a program if it's too big!)
I've had to make some small sacrifices and one major one. The small
sacrifices include:- no title screen blocks, it'll just have to be a
normal title screen i.e. a picture. Tile sets and sprites are more
limited to what they were in my previous versions. And the major
sacrifice is that I *might* have to do something drastic and remove
the ropes from the game as it takes up a massive chunk of the
program :-(
This isn't definate yet, I've removed it for the time being and
everything is working fine, but I still have the code and I am going
to have another crack at putting it back in later to see if it might
work... Fingers crossed eh? ;-)
