It doesn't really matter what language it's written it - the important
bit for doing a port is knowing the format used for the room, sprites,
etc., and how the game mechanics work (for example, Andrew Broad's MM
pages are practically all one needs to rewrite the original MM for
another platform). Once your game engine is ported to, say, Mac OS X,
then any game created for the PC version should play without further
work (theoretically!).
