Subject: Matthew Smith's Famous MM and JSW
Matthew Smith's long seclusion from public view was the subject of
much obsession, and his very absence reinforced his god-like status
in the eyes of many (in my view he isn't a god as such, just the
author of arguably the two most influential computer games of all
time).
I got too agree with this I first played manic miner in the c64 when
I was 13 years old, I am now 33, any author who can write a game that
still captivates a gamer after 20 years is indeed a god like man.
Hence I disagree with the above post I found on the net.
Right lets get down too business.
I have Andy Noble's conversion of MM and JSW for the PC and the MMJSW
from craig's world. Now here is the problem I am running Windows XP
Pro and I have a SB Player 1024 sound card. No longer can these games
work in the 16bit soundblaster mode and instead you can only choose
the old 8 bit soundblaster pro that really sucks. Has anyone got any
patches too make these 3 classics use the SB16 bit mode. I would
appreciate that alot, no doubt millions of others all over the net
would be honoured that they can get enjoy the 16bit music.
