That's a little harsh! I know with the grey +2's you can get a line
level tape signal in and out through the cable that connects the
cassette mechanism to the motherboard. (My own broke many years ago so I
lopped the datacorder off with a hacksaw, glued the end back on,
car-body fillered the gap, then resprayed the whole lot in 'champagne'.
I thought it looked good!)
