Subject: Party Willy: second beta-version
I've just uploaded the second beta-version of Party Willy (including
Part 2) to the Files section (Broadsoft/party_willy.zip). Please do
not pass it on outside this Group.
As well as updating README.TXT and the room-documentation, I've made
the following changes to Part 1:
(a) revamped "The Battlements (with a Bell)" [17], adding a top
section;
(b) added a pixel-inverted Willy sprite (Sprite-Page 151) - the
following rooms use this as the player-sprite:
6: ""Die Mortal""
20: "Black Tie White Noise"
35: "Attributes of Maria (Sharapova)"
62: "Prospecting down Surbiton Way"
(c) added a gliding Willy sprite (Sprite-Page 158) - the following
rooms use this as a player-sprite:
14: "Matthew Didn't Bother to Code It"
17: "The Battlements (with a Bell)"
27: "Sylvan's Hideout"
28: "The Blazing Furnace"
46: "Lost Highway"
60: "Guarden"
(d) edited the start-row of Guardian-Class 7 to accommodate the
gliding Willy sprite in "Sylvan's Hideout" [27], which also affects
the instance of GC 7 in "The Magic Faraway Tree" [38];
(e) closed the loophole in "Guarden" [60] whereby you could jump
left off the bottom-left wall into the rightmost wall of "The Spar"
[0], and jump right to gain premature access to the top of "Guarden"
and rooms to the right.
A formal list of changes, generated by SPECSAISIE, can be found in
party_willy.zip: CHANGES_PART1.TXT.
Part 1 is still open to negotiation until 12th April, and Part 2
until 23rd April - their respective official release-dates.
Before 12th April, I plan to:
1. write (a program to generate) the new JSW:MM, which will have
guardians, items in their proper places, better connectivity and
only 20 rooms;
2. perhaps make some `miner' improvements to MM:JSW, MirrorMM and
MirrorJSW.
I need to do a full playtest of Part 2 - although I have thoroughly
tested each room individually, I cannot yet issue a certificate of
completability.
And of course I plan to put the JSW128 version of Party Willy
together by 23rd April, although whether I will have time to write
the 128K tunes by then is doubtful.
