First of all, a big WOW to J.G. Harston! Your site has a very
impressive collection of technical information.

It's always interesting to compare different people's
interpretations of the JSW sprites!

> 140 1:100 &AC80 Web

Spiral.

> 152 1:112 &AE00 Egg-whisk

I've always thought this was a variant of the creature from "The
Warehouse" in Manic Miner. I call it the "todhopper".

Dalek.

> 176 1:136 &B100 Top Hat/Periscope base
> 180 1:140 &B180 Periscope

Macaroni Ted.

> 188 1:118 &B280 Orange

Moon-Face.

> 204 1:164 &B480 Duck RIGHT

Monk. How you can see it as a duck I don't know! Ducks are what you
get in Manic Miner's "The Menagerie".

> 228 1:188 &B780 Sponge

Tambourine/steel trap. The thing in "The Bathroom" might be a sponge.

> 240 1:200 &B900 Dumbell

Sponge/bone/a pair of atlases.

> 244 1:204 &B980 UFO

Shuttle.

> 248 1:208 &BA00 Medusa

I've always thought of this as an amoebatron. Some call it a spider.
It's one of my very favourite sprites.

I drew a Medusa sprite for We Pretty, which I reused in Party Willy
(Part 2), "The Nefarious Frightmare Room" [29].

> 132 1: 92 &AB80 Priest
> 252 1:212 &BA80 Demon

Surely you must have got these names the wrong way round! ;-)

> 260 1:220 &BB80 Flower

For years I called this the "tree-lion", until I read on the
Internet that it is a flower, which I agree with.

> 280 1:240 &BE00 Perfume

This is clearly some kind of automaton. I call it the "beacon".

> 284 1:244 &BE80 Blob

Opaque bubble/marshmallow.

> 288 1:248 &BF00 Woodcutter

I've always associated this sprite with Dr Jones.

> 292 1:252 &BF80 Guard

And bald guard with sunglasses!

I was most intrigued to find some old postings of mine in
http://www.mdfsnet.f9.co.uk/Software/JSW/Docs/faq/ ! I intend to
write up a document called "How to Design a MM/JSW Game" for my
website later this year.

My terminology at
http://www.mdfsnet.f9.co.uk/Software/JSW/Docs/Terms is just a small
fraction of the MM/JSW glossary (Nomen Clature? ;-) ) I plan to
write up one day.

Your copy of my Jet Set Willy Construction Kit at
http://www.mdfsnet.f9.co.uk/Software/JSW/Editors/JSWCK.zip is an old
beta-version (JSW CK 0.0). Please could you replace it with the
latest version, JSW CK 1.0?
