Subject: Conveyor animation
I was just thinking/wondering... On the Commodore platform games,
conveyor animations were created by rotating the bits in an actual
printable character, so that all instances onscreen of it would
appear to animate. Very efficient. Is this possible on the spectrum?
I'm guessing it must be, because of games like Auf Weidersehen Monty.
If so, why did Matt choose to limit the animation to a single line? I
am just wondering if it's possible to recode the conveyor animation
routine in JSW, especially now that multiple conveyors are getting
used more. For me it's a real aesthetic pain to have one conveyor
animated and the others not. I sometimes get by it by making conveyor
graphics that don't need animation, where the conveyorality of the
block is evident from it's appearance.
This is something I have been meaning to ask about for a long time
(and may have done already :)
