Subject: MM/JSW and lives
Hi again folks. I was just wondering how easy it would be to (a) make
extra lives more frequent in MM and (b) add an extra-lives system
into JSW (based on items collected).
In MM I'm thinking of making the time bonus more valuable and that
should pretty much fix the problem. I could also make items give you
more points. If someone could point me to the hex values to change I
would be very grateful.
In JSW this will obviously need to be a patch, and I'm not sure It'll
be possible. My argument with JSW is that too often a game in
progress can become 'hopeless' because there is such a huge task at
hand and you never get a chance to regain a life. Giving away extra
lives every 25 items or so would give the player a reason to soldier
on without having to neccecarily resort to using cheats. It would
also make 'item bonanza' rooms and small clusters of items have more
strategic significance in gameplay/game design.
Well it's a thought anyway :)
