Subject: JSWED 2.1.2 uploaded
Quiet in here.
Anyway, JSWED 2.1.2 has been uploaded. The following changes have been
made:
i) JSWED can reload the 128k .SNA files it saves.
ii) Support has been added for editing games in all six JSW64 formats.
JSW48 games can be upgraded to JSW64 (no support yet for converting
JSW128 or Manic Miner games). This includes support for portals,
teleports, per-room sprites, per-room variable size guardian lists,
solar power, limited air, kamikaze-proofing, Rigor Mortis, altering
cell behaviour, and so on.
The JSW64 games in the Files section have been updated so that they
are compatible with the new JSWED. I recommend against using any of
them as a basis for your own JSW games, though, since they weren't
designed with JSWED in mind. In particular, there isn't any patch
vector editor yet in JSWED - so you won't be able to get rid of
switches, skylabs, kongs, eugenes or fancy bathtubs.
There is a *lot* of new code in this JSWED, and it may well eat your
data, regardless of what type of game you are editing. Save early and
save often.
You can download JSWED from
http://www.seasip.demon.co.uk/Jsw/jswed.html , and I look forward to
seeing who produces the first original JSW64 game.
