I would also have to add to that, that the movement engine is also
very special to Willy (and what gives it the quirky features too).
I've noticed, simply walking Willy around on the screen has a
theraputic quality to it. It's very easy to get Willy to do what you
want and it's very predictable what he will do. All it takes to be a
better player is more skill.

On most of the other platform games, moving around and positioning
for jumps is a chore. You never know how close to the edge of a
platform you can walk before you fall off... In Monty I for example,
collision with objects is pixel-based, meaning you can walk thru
the /middle/ of platforms. There are countless other things that mar
most platform games, mostly to do with jumping and platform/wall
detection. Even the C64 version of JSW II isn't /quite/ right with
the jump routine :(

I've heard people say that Monty I and Chuckie Egg are superior to
MM! (Horror unspeakable!!! Though I think the atmosphere might be
slightly better in Monty I - at least in the opening screens, but the
gameplay was awful... Random crushers and unpredictable objects to
collect... ARGHH!). Interestingly enough there is a Chuckie Egg level
designer, but probably no scene as people get bored of looking at
yellow briks and piles of seed :P

End random sounding off.
