Subject: Manic Miner: Allana Truman update
Sorry this week's instalment is three days later than usual, but:
(a) I started work this week (see Message 4405);
(b) I'm following a little tennis-tournament called the US Open this
fortnight;
(c) There are major changes to MM:AT besides the addition of Room 9,
namely:
1. I have fixed an undesirable feature in the vertical-guardian-
colouring code (see TECHNICA.TXT, which has been updated,
particularly if you're after Z80 machine-code samples). This change
does not affect any of the rooms that have been beta-released so far.
2. I have edited the title-screen scrolly again.
3. I have edited the title-screen/Room 19 picture, and am aware that
this causes an infinite-death scenario in Room 19 until I release
the final instalment.
4. I have written a proper loading program and loading screen
(generated by BMP2SCR EXP, like the title-screen/Room 19 picture).
So the beta-version now has Rooms 0-9 edited. The alpha-version (my
working version) now has Rooms 0-13 and 18 finished, Rooms 14-17
each about 80% finished, and Room 19 about 50% written - I need some
help, some inspiration, but it's not coming easily.
