Subject: (JSW 64) Guardians using 'Room sprite' graphics?

 

In variant V you get two frames of graphics per room to use for
whatever you want. I tried using it in conjunction with the portal to
create more 'scenery', but it had the problem of flashing.

Then I realized that I could use the graphic as a guardian, but only
by manually editing the sprite page in the ! hex edit box to 81 (8100
is always the location of this).

The extra graphics show in the game, but JSWED always displays the
last set of graphics edited, no matter which room you are on, and so
loses consistency. Was this usage of this resource unplanned? This
procedure (of manually setting to 81) also tends to cause JSWED to
crash about 1 in 2 times.

It's really useful by the way, as I've found I can condense my global
sprites list slightly with it, and add a few extra visual touches to
some rooms.
