I think that is the entire point of using Surbiton. It's an
extremely unlikely place to go prospecting. Anyway, of course there
isn't a mine in Surbiton, because anyone who tried digging one would
have run up against the clockwork birds and electric penguins and
mutant telephones and self-propelled toilets...
