JSW 'canon' as evidenced in JSW2. Moving holes are IMO not needed,
since a patch vector would cover it. I know moving platforms could be
a patch but it would be more elegant as a guardian considering it
would basically be a horizontal or vertical guardian that you can
stand on and possibly which moves you up and down in the vertical version.
As I've stated before JSWED desperately needs a library of patch
routines for cliche platformgame devices such as moving holes a la
tribbles, opening and closing platforms, and a 'for dummies' guide on
how to copy those into JSWED (should be easier with the built in hex
editor) and customise the variables. But that will hopefully come in
time. I don't just want this for my own selfish megalomanical reasons,
I'd love to see what people can create.
And I don't aggree that JSWED should limit it's-self to JSW standards.
At present you can make games to a higher technical standard than the
original games, and change enough stuff around so it hardly feels like
JSW any more. Besides, why shouldn't Willy move with the times and
eventually be expanded to do more complicated things? It would still
basically be the game we all know and love, only with more possibilities.
