Subject: What I would like to see in JSWED 2.2.6
1) So that the room would be updated right after you've changed
something in it. For example you've included a new guardian then
changed to the main cell room editor and you see a new sprite.
Sometimes I've deleted a floor somewhere and want to place a guardian
there. I enter guardian editor and see the floor where it was,
because the screen wasn't updated. I have to click on < and > to let
the editor update the screen.
2) When you've put some V marks in room properties screen (No
kamikaze and such stuff) - when you make some changes in room (I
don't know which - but all the marks delete. It happens very often. I
prefer to put them after the whole room design - not to change
anything in it after V marks, so that they won't be deleted again.
3) John, how to make skylabs go up? You've told us in the readme for
the editor, that all we need is to make a (-) speed, but this doesn't
work. Is it a problem of the editor or the engine?
4) I suppose you have to include a patch with single column skylab
into editor to make it easier - include it or not. I'm forward to
include it in my game. It will give huge possabilities to include one-
way vertical guardians.
P.S. Even without this patch I have founded a very cool way how to
make such ONE-WAY vertical guardians! =) Guess how I've did it?
5) Would be cool if the editor will tell user that some cell
attributes are the same and so that he would change this if he
doesn't really need this. Sometimes I change colors and everything is
ok - then I playtest the game and see that all floor are the same
color as water, for example. It isn't very important, but it would
save time not to playtest the game one more time.
6) Include an AUTO-SAVE!!! That will activate before entering a
guardian properties (the place where JSWED likes to crash). JOHN,
please make this option! It is very needed for every designer, who
forgot to save it manually.
7) Show the eighth sprite in a row
8) Fix a bug in sprite images with the lowest row of pixels being
copied. Like in a foot final sequence)))
- And remember - your editor is the best I've ever seen! Keep up the
good work!!!
