No, Word files take up too much space for a raw text medium like this.

Most of the messages are in Notepad (.txt) format. A small number are
in Wordpad (.wri), a similarly small file format which nonetheless
allows the display of certain characters (mostly found in posts by you
and Andrew incidentally) which the .txt format can't show. It's an
inelegant solution and I would've liked to save them all in .txt, but
those pesky special characters would keep turning up as black blocks,
and it would be frustrating to read
Whilst I have mostly kept the archive pure, a number of posts have
been cleaned up. We had a period where one guy's every post had a
gigantic disclaimer from Manchester university, and another's always
had huge chunks of gibberish information on the end. I eventually
decided that, since they were both automatically generated additions
and they were extremely unsightly, I'd just clip them off and keep the
actual post itself. Deleted posts are represented by a file that just
says "[deleted, spam]" (or whatever reason the post was removed)
Old posts to MMJSW are compressed into zipfiles of 1,000 posts apiece.
I do this because whilst lots of little files have a habit of clogging
up Windows' shoddy architecture, one large file will take up
remarkably less space. I also have the defunct clubs compressed like this

on the servers. What I can do is, I'll compress the remaining .txt and
.wri files from the various clubs, then I'll put all the individual
zipfiles into one large file, and put it on Yousendit. Then I'll just
send you the link to it
