Subject: Jet Set Willy: Mind Control released!

Hello Everybody!

We are happy to announce the 'official' release of "Jet Set Willy:
Mind Control"! You can download it from the Files section of the
Club :-) . Soon it will also be available from our respective
websites.

If you have played the Club version, forget it and get the REAL
thing! You will experience:

- new music and title screen;
- Willy's new sprite;
- some new challenges (collect the leftmost item in "On Top of the
Castle Tower" without losing a life!);
- a game which in its final shape is more player-friendly than the
Club version.

You will face fewer infinite-death scenarios, won't get 'hanged' in-
between rooms, etc. The game is also accompanied by a text-based map
in .pdf format and a text file containing "The Solution" - The
Optimal Route and step-by-step instructions on how to complete it.

The game can be finished without losing a single life. In the final
playtesting it has been accomplished (by saving and loading
snapshots and following The Optimal Route) with a toilet-time of
11.41 am.

Please check the standard 'Read me' text file for the story, the
credits, and all the usual information. Also, Sendy's original
release of "The Unlucky Seven" is included in the .zip file for game-
completists.

Special thanks to:

- Matthew Smith, for starting it all;

- John Elliott, for the JSW128 game engine and for his JSWED;

- Matthew Smith, Darren McCowan, Herve Ast, Zoran Miladinov, Michael
Blanke and Arno Gitz, Adam Britton, Richard Hallas, Greg Heslington
and Andrew Broad for their sprites used in the game;

- Richard Hallas and Zoran Miladinov, for their permission to use
redesigned rooms from their games;

- Andrew Broad, Stuart J. Hill and Adam Britton for design patterns
and graphical elements copied from / inspired by their games;

- Ian Collier and John Elliott for the music;

- Zoran Miladinov for the title screen;

- Andrew Broad for his comments on the Club version of "Mind
Control";

- All of you, members of the Group, for your interest and support!

Download, enjoy and have a very happy New Year!

Daniel and Sendy

P.S. I've been trying very hard, but I haven't been able to upload
the .zip file as it should be.

The proper final .zip file with "JSW: Mind Control", called "JSW-
MC.zip" should contain five files:

1. The game file, called "JSW-MC.tap";
2. The "Read me" text file called "Jet Set Willy - Mind Control.txt";
3. The "Solution" text file called "JSW - Mind Control - The
Solution.txt";
4. The map, called "JSW-MC Map.pdf";
5. Sendy's original release of The Unclucky Seven, called
"Arcane_Design_JSW__TheUnlucky_Seven.zip".

This will be the content of the "JSW-MC.zip" file when it is
uploaded to my website (some time in January) and in every other
instance when it is distributed.

However, for some reason which I cannot explain, I have been unable
to upload this file to the Files section of the Club - I always got
the "page cannot be open" message at the end. Does this have
anything to do with the size of the file or something? Anyway,
since I did not want to delay the release of the game, at this time
the FULL contents of the final file can be found in THREE separate
files in the Files section of the Club, namely:

- The game file and the two text files can be found in the file "JSW-
MC.zip", in the general area of the Files section;
- The map file ("JSW-MC-Map.pdf") can be found in the general area
of the Files section;
- Sendy's original release can be found in her folder (Arcane
design) under the name mentioned above.

I am sorry about this fragmentation (which does not affect the
completeness of the release, but certainly is inelegant). Please, do
not spread the "incomplete" "JSW-MC.zip" at this time, wait for just
a few days and you will be able to download the "complete" version
from my website, and then DO send it, by all means, to anyone you
wish!

Daniel
