Subject: Odd behaviour ... or not?
Ok, I have heard of the many oddities of Jet Set Willy. I never
completed JSW before as each screen was always just a tad too hard for
me ... so ... tonight I cheated my way to the end (or perhaps not as I
don't know how JSW is supposed to end) ... accidentally. And here is
my story:
I am using ZXSpin V0.504
I downloaded JetSetWilly(PCGBugfix).tzx.zip from WorldOfSpectrum.org
Had a couple of beers, decided that it was high time I tinkered around
with JSW (An awful combination: beer and computers. A
near-death-experience: Beer and Jet Set Willy). Found a list of
pokes on the Tipshop website.
Loaded the game normal, supplied the asked for colour-code O1.
Started the game as normal, typed in the poke I found on the Tipshop
site: "POKE 41983,255 You have only to collect the tap to see the
finale effect" ... nothing different on-screen.
Picked up the tap(from the tub, right???) and ambled on over to the
Bedroom.
She was there.
Jumped up in the air and she pointed her finger.
"Didn't seem like the poke worked, eh?" ...
got bored and still standing there I decided to take a look at the
Quirkafleeg screen.
Again using Tipshop I found that as being room number 16 and also
found a poke to transport over there.
Misunderstood (prolly the stupid beers I had earlier) the instructions
for the poke:
"Start in room x 34795,x:33824,x (x=1-63, see list)"
So, in Spin I punched 34795,1 hit POKE then I punched in 33824,6 hit
POKE ... went back to the game, lo and behold, guess who dissapeared
right in front of me? Anywho, went to bed (and touched the
pillow/wall) and got the Die Mortal screen.
