Hi there, Mark.
As far as I remember, John Elliot's JSWED will allow you to export a TAP file to XML, from
which you'll be able to extract the rooms and graphics without delving into the Speccy code
(that said, Andrew Broad's documentation of the MM room format is very easy to follow):
