Subject: James Bond: Differences between v0.8 and v1.0
The differences between the last beta-release (v0.8) and the first
gamma-release (v1.0) of JSW64MM:JB are as follows:
1. "From Russia with Love" [1]: added decorative guardians for
Blofeld and Kronsteen, and an arrow to kill you if you get stuck;
2. "Goldfinger" [2]: implemented the arrow-patch whereby the bottom
pixel-row of the arrow (Oddjob's bowler-hat) is #FF rather than
Guardian-byte 6;
3. "The Spy Who Loved Me" [9]: top-left HG now uses new Sandor sprite
(I take it overwriting 0:#C000-C0FF won't do any harm);
3. stole, converted, imported and edited the title-screen picture;
4. written the title-screen scrolly;
5. reused my subroutine to draw the remaining lives the right way
round when the two halves of Sprite-page #9D are swapped, and
expanded it to use Sprite-page #9D if Room-offset #ED is less than
#80;
6. made the screen go red instead of blue after entering the portal;
7. applied my 24-hour-clock patch, and edited the Time message and
its colour-attributes accordingly (I wonder how many times the game
can be completed before the time runs out?);
8. modified the Game Over screen to say "Goodbye, Mr. Bond!";
9. README.TXT: removed Beta-foreword; removed betas from Revision-
History; added 2 entries to Acknowledgements re. the title-screen
picture; explained why I don't plan to upgrade Broadsoft Lifts;
resolved all comments.
10. TECHNICA.TXT: added address-ranges to headings, added a list of
free space, and documented the new patches mentioned above.
11. ToDo.txt is not included in the gamma-release.
