Subject: Another review of "Jet Set Willy"
This is just to make everyone aware that there is an interesting
review of the original "JSW" at:
http://www.caffeinated.org.uk/spectrum/games/jsw.html
From my point of view, there is one element which is visibly missing:
a mention (a short one, at least) of the whole remake scene - its
existence and development are certainly a great tribute to the
original and worth mentioning as such.
In this context the last sentence: "Still, it was an amazing
revelation at the time, and should be applauded for being uniquely
British, if nothing else" might need some elaboration - while I
couldn't really judge whether the original game is /so/ British (not
being British myself - still, nobody's perfect :-) ), certainly the
remake scene is /very/ international, which is a fascinating
phenomenon in itself ("ZX Spectrum in the Times of Globalisation").
