Subject: Sendy's games - from Daniel
Hello Sendy,
It is great to hear from you and to know you have been keeping up your creativity, although the news about your (lack of) JSW activity is rather sad.
If we were not far from each other geographically, I would immediately volunteer to go and fix your problematic computer, or at least to take out the problematic HDD, connect it to a working computer (hint, hint) and transfer those wonderful "frozen treasures" to another drive, and then make at least three backup copies of each of them!
However, we are probably quite far away from each other (I've lived in Sydney since August this year and I should be here for the next few years), so I cannot help you in this way. However, I will say what I have said many times before: Sendy, PLEASE, do make an effort to gamma-release your nearly-finished games! It's like one final push for victory, you do have to invest a little time and energy (however, incomparable to the amount you have already spent while working on those games before) and then, after you release them, you can just sit back and bask in satisfaction, receiving congratulations from all those crazy Willy-watchers! And the games go onto WoS, and get hosted on a number of other websites (just like your SMW modes) and yes... they become immortal, because they float on the web and some day someone will download them, and play them, and enjoy them... perhaps even fall in love with Miner Willy! They are there for everyone interested to download and enjoy. They are finished, complete and ready; they will not fail the player with unexpected bugs or unfinished rooms. Isn't this a beautiful vision? But in order for it to come true, you must make this final little effort. You know you can do it, gosh, you are a creative genius judging by the games you have already released!
I am sorry I've got emotional about it, but I remember those messages around New Year's time (what year was it?) when you announced that "Manic Person" and "Jet Set Willy: Role Reversal" - these are obviously the two games I am talking about - will be gamma-released within hours. And then the release was postponed, and then postponed again, and then it never materialised. I do not want to flood you with reproach, but think of the pain we, the true JSW-lovers, suffered back then, in those fateful days and hours, and have suffered ever since... always... whenever we think of your JSW and MM games... Just one final effort... please...
Daniel
