Subject: Re: Announce: Miles Mad Mission
Thank you, DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!, for this fine new game and congratulations!
I learned about the release of "Miles Mad Mission" two days ago, when I got back from an offline holiday. I also found out that Daren beat me to an RZX walkthrough. I decided to use it then and I've just watched his recording of the game. I haven't played "MMM" myself yet, but I will certainly do so in the future.
It is good to see another development of the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!'s characteristic style! I loved the impressive graphics, which make the game look very non-JSW at times (it's not criticism, just an observation). Several screens are particularly impressive, but there are loads of great graphics throughout the game. References to other ZX Spectrum games are excellent, too, as is the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!'s notorious sense of humour :-). It was also nice to see references to his own previous games and some elements from them reused.
As explained previously, I didn't actually play the game, but as I watched it, some moments seemed more difficult than is typical of the DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!!'s games. This is good, I believe. I look forward to playing the game myself.
Once again, congratulations on this impressive new game, DrUnKeN mAsTeR!!! !
And a short related reflection...
The game was created around the WoS forums theme. There must have been quite a lot of JSW-related activity there to inspire it, was there?
Meanwhile, in this Group fewer than 100 messages were posted this year. Still not too bad, perhaps - a message every four days, more or less - but there were times in the past when twice as many were posted in a single month...
The release of "Miles Mad Mission" - a brand new game, the only entirely new JSW game released this year - was announced, and yet there was no reaction to it for almost a week.
Is this a sign of decline while the JSW-related activity is shifting elsewhere?
Just wondering, honestly hoping that I'm wrong... Plus - see my next message :-) .
Daniel
