Subject: Suggestion for the list of MM/JSW games
A suggestion for the next update of Dr. Andrew Broad's list of MM/JSW games:
"Miner Mania" by Freddy Lewis (Your Spectrum 1985) can be considered, IMO, a game of MM/JSW interest. It was included in WoS's latest (Jan. 2nd) update. Here it is:
http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0024285
I've downloaded it from WoS, but I haven't actually been able to run it. I'm probably doing something wrong (or not doing something necessary), but I'm not sure what. In the accompanying text file it says: "The second program in MINERMAN.TAP is the DigiTape version, which includes the missing level" - I don't know how to tackle this; I can see two programs in the TAP file ("Minermania" and "MinerManV2 LINE 1") but I don't know how to run either of them.
Furthermore, there is a pejorative reference to JSW in the text file:
"Go on, dig deep and discover a game that no-one's gonna call
the pits. Mining games have become a mania recently so, not
to be outdone by pale imitations like Monty Mole and JSW,
Your Spectrum proudly presents the definitive version."
Daniel
