Not good news, I'm afraid. I have a significant backlog of tennis-reports to write, which I am bound by my vows of Eternal Fanship to complete before I can devote any significant time to playing games (beyond seizing any quick-medal opportunities at darnkitty.com).

Furthermore, I have less than two weeks to go before the start of my six weeks of Major Tennis Distractions (23rd May to 5th July), out of which I am likely to emerge with a backlog that I shall be struggling to clear by the end of 2010.

I had hoped to clear my existing backlog before 23rd May, but I'm having a really frustrating year: I work so hard to free up time for other things (including MM/JSW), and then something else comes along, and I lose all the time I had saved.

Because of my now-unavoidable failure to clear my backlog before 23rd May, the situation is likely to get even worse in the second half of 2010, when I will have to accept even more commitments (real life as well as tennis). I feel as though I'm already halfway through 2011 in terms of losing MM/JSW time in advance. :-(

It's so frustrating not to have any time for MM/JSW this year, because I have several game-ideas that I would love to implement. I hate the fact that my backlog of unplayed gamma-released MM/JSW games now stretches back fully ten years, and the fact that on 28th May, it will have been a whole year since I last updated my List of MM/JSW Games.

My passion for MM/JSW still burns brightly, but I know that if I were to give in to it now, it would blow my other goals right out of the water. I cannot break the promises that I have made to the tennis-community. I would love to make time for MM/JSW by ignoring all the demands of real life, but I have to accept that there are consequences to my actions, and that there would, for certain, be consequences to wrong actions. Dark they would be, and inescapable.

As for beta-testing The 2010 Megamix, it's not an absolute "no" at this stage, but it is most unlikely that I would be able to meet a deadline in 2010.
