Subject: Re: The mystery of "Willy Takes a Trip" - just one piece remaining!
Encouraged by the progress made thanks to Andrew and John's info, I started to re-think the problem and I had a brilliant, although much belated (and rather obvious, really) idea of referring to Geoff's text file which goes with the game.
And, lo and behold, it helped me solve two more puzzles and reach the item count of 195. The remaining 18 items are in the last section of the game map which I have not been able to access so far, starting with the upper part of "Weeds".
Thanks to Geoff's tips in the text file I can now present the solution to:
1. "The Store Room"
There is a green object above the "S" in the room name which seems to be a Fire cell, because it kills you if you jump against it from below. However, when you drop onto it from above, from the right hand side, it teleports you to an invisible platform in "Downhill". You have to walk right and then, before hitting an invisible Fire cell which limits the platform from the right (there is another one on the left as well), you have to jump up and you will get teleported back into "The Store Room" where you are now able to collect the three previously inaccessible items there.
2. "A Quiet Corner to rest in"
There is a blue horizontal guardian in that room (incidentally, invisible in JSWED) which should catch a trained player's attention because it moves erratically, kind of. This guardian is, in fact, a horizontal lift which allows you to cross the upper middle part of the room from left to right. Then you can cross its upper part back from right to left, exit upwards into "Nineteen - Not Out!" and collect all of the previously inaccesible items in this and three other rooms.
Delightful challenges, I have to say. Thank you, Geoff, for the tips in the text file!
Well, so now it's just the section starting with the upper part of "Weeds" remaining. Unfortunately, Geoff isn't very helpful on this one in the text file, where he says only, "The upper levels are reachable in non-obvious ways. The title introduces the zone which pertains to a certain recreational herb".
I doubt that I will be able to call looking for these non-obvious ways to reach the upper levels "recreation". But found they must be...
Any ideas?
Daniel
